How does RateDaycare work?

RateDaycare lets parents search, compare, and rate licensed daycares in the Edmonton metro area. Browse by city, neighborhood, or school district, read reviews from other parents, and leave your own ratings to help the community.

Is RateDaycare free to use?

Yes — RateDaycare is completely free for parents. You can search daycares, read reviews, and submit your own ratings at no cost.

How are daycare ratings calculated?

Ratings are based on parent reviews across 9 categories: overall experience, safety, cleanliness, staff quality, curriculum, value for money, communication, nutrition, and facilities. The overall score is the average of all parent ratings.

Do I need an account to leave a review?

Yes, you need to sign in with a Google account to leave a review. This helps ensure reviews are from real parents and prevents spam.

What cities does RateDaycare cover?

We currently cover the Edmonton metropolitan area including Edmonton, St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, Leduc, Beaumont, Fort Saskatchewan, Stony Plain, Morinville, and Devon. We plan to expand to more Canadian cities in the future.

How do I know the daycares listed are licensed?

All daycares on RateDaycare are sourced from official provincial licensing records. We display each daycare's license number and program type so you can verify their status.

What is the waitlist information?

Waitlist data is crowdsourced from the parent community. Parents can report whether a daycare has a waitlist and how long they waited. This information is an estimate and may change — always contact the daycare directly to confirm.

I own a daycare — how do I claim my listing?

Visit our Claim Your Listing page to get started. Once verified, you can respond to reviews, update your profile, and connect with prospective families.

Can I edit or delete my review?

You can manage your reviews from your account page after signing in. If you need help, contact us through our contact page.

How often is the information updated?

Daycare listings are synced regularly with provincial records. Reviews and waitlist data are updated in real time as parents submit new information.
